Dalam konsep blog, setiap posting kita akan terarsip otomatis secara rapi setiap
bulan. Setiap memasuki bulan baru, seperti Januari, maka arsip bulan Desember
akan tampil di sidebar. Masalahnya, kalau kita sudah ngeblog setahun, maka arsip
dari Januari sampai Desember akan berjejer di sidebar kita. Bagaimana kalau dua
dan tiga tahun lagi? Langkah praktis mengatasi hal ini
adalah dengan membuat pull-down menu seperti di bawah ini:
Jadi, berapa bulan/tahun kita blogging di blogger/blogspot, menu bulan-bulan tsb
tidak akan memenuhi dan berjejer panjang di sidebar kita. Yg tampak hanya nama
"Archives", baru setelah di klik, akan muncul nama bulan arsip-arsip kita.
Untuk membuat arsip pulldown ini ada dua yakni untuk blogger dengan template
klasik, dan template baru. Untuk template klasik langkahnya yaitu :

Making a popular blog
When I 1st started my blog I had no connections in the blogosphere. The were no "A" list blogger promoting it, no email list to announce it to & no JV partnership in place. In fact not even my Mom knew I started a blog. It was out there all alone. My 1st post received 8 comments and 70+ unique visitors in two days.
Now, I'll admit those numbers didn't set the blog world on fire. But, I was thrilled with the results. Not to shabby for a new blog.

His post got the attention of another blogger who in turn wrote his own post about my blog. So, one trackback created 2 links back to my blog. Needless to say I was instantly hook on this form of traffic generation.
What are trackbacks and why are they so important to the success of any blog?
A trackback is when you link out to another blog post. But, before you publish you add a link to the blog post in the Trackback section of your edit box. The send trackback form is just below the edit form in your WordPress blog. This blog owner will get a notification of your post, and will be able to read an excerpt of your post.
This is a true win/win situation
The blog will get a notification about your link to them. The blog in question will get a link, helping their search engine ranking. Links play an important role in SEO. Your trackback will be added to the top of their comment section. And the trackback will have a link pointing back to your blog post.

How to Write to a More Effective Blog
If you are building your home based business online chances are you already know the importance of blogging. Having a business blog can be one of the best things you can do for your business in order to attract people to you and gain more prospects.
Blogging also allows you to stay in touch and build a relationship with people already on your team that may be scattered around the country or the globe. If you're wanting to build an effective and popular blog you don't need much.
The first thing you'll need is a good domain name. I recommend using a domain name that is keyword optimized. So rather than JennifersBlog.com perhaps go with something like JennifersHomeBusinessSuccessBlog.com or JensWorkAtHomeBlog.com the possibilities are endless but just know that keywords are always best because they will automatically get your blog in the search engines faster.
However the real trick to building an effective blog doesn't lay in the domain name, or the layout (although obviously you don't want an ugly blog) but in the content aka the posts themselves.
So how do you write more effective blog posts that will not only captivate your current readers and keep them coming back but help you gain a bigger and bigger audience and at the same time raise your blog in the search engines?

3. Use Pictures!
I can not stress enough how much adding pictures will add to your blog. Breaking up your text with pictures will make people want to read more and more and the more personal the pics can be the better. So if you're talking about your trip to Hawaii with the family don't just use a stock photo of Hawaii use one of you and your family! Another tip is to make sure and keyword optimize the titles of your pictures before you post them as well!
Those are just a few simple tips that will help your blog become more popular. Make sure you work on your blog at least a couple times a week and follow these tips and you'll be good to go!

Mengganti Icon Blogspot / Blogger
Jika kita membuka suatu website atau blog maka seringkali kita menjumpai ada sebuah gambar atau icon pada address bar (kotak untuk mengetikkan alamat web). Dan jika kita punya blog di Blogspot maka icon default yang akan tampil adalah gambar seperti ini :
Bagi kamu yang tidak puas dengan icon/gambar tersebut, kamu bisa menggantinya dengan gambar sesuai dengan keinginanmu. caranya sangat mudah, yaitu dengan membuat gambar (gif, jpg, ico, dan lain2) dengan ukuran kira2 24x42 pixel sampai 32x32 pixel (sebenarnya ukurannya bebas sih, tapi biar filenya kecil dan proses membukanya cepat). Setelah itu .....
masuk ke "Layout --> Edit HTML" trus tempatkan script berikut sebelum kode
ganti huruf yang dicetak tebal dengan lokasi gambar dimana kamu menyimpannya. Kamu bisa menyimpan gambarmu di 000webhost atau bisa juga di photobucket dan juga di imageshack atau kalo kamu tidak mau pusing dibawah ini ada beberapa contoh icon/gambar beserta dengan linknya.

Membuat email Domain sendiri
entunya kita pingin dong punya email dengan nama domain kita sendiri, misal namamu@domainmu.com. Nha sekarang ini google menyediakan fasilitas untuk membuat email seperti itu dengan cara yang lumayan mudah. Tapi sayangnya saat ini fasilitas tersebut belum bisa digunakan untuk blog yg masih menggunakan domain blabla.blogspot.com. Fasilitas ini hanya untuk yang memiliki domain sendiri, misal domainmu.com , .net. .org . dan top level doamin lainnya. Makanya itu bagi yang pengen, cepetan beli domain, aku sarankan beli di dodoldomain.com, murah lho (promosi...he..he..). Trus yang pake domain "co.cc" bisa gak? aku bilang "bisa", tapi sekarang aku pingin bahas yang pake domain .com/.net/.org, dll dulu. bagi yang punya domain "co.cc" sabar dulu ya.
Ok mari kita mulai tutorialnya bagaimana cara membuat email sendiri.
1. Buka alamat ini : http://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new
2. maka km akan langsung disuguhi form seperti ini:
3. Isikan nama domain kamu didalam form tersebut lalu klik tombol "Get Started"
4. Kemudian akan muncul fomr lagi untuk mengisikan data-data yang diperlukan, Kalo sudah diisi klik "Continue"
5. Setelah itu akan muncul menu2 seperti ini :
6. Klik pada link "Activate email".
7. Setelah itu akan muncul lagi halaman untuk "Setup Email Delivery" , itu untuk setting MX Record. Caranya yaitu dengan mengisikan MX Record km dengan data2 yang ada disana. Datanya seperti ini :
MX Server address Priority
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 10
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 20
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 20
ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
Bagi yang menggunakan DNS setting dari DNS park caranya yaitu : Klik domain kamu yg berada di "Domain list". Setelah itu pilihan "Type" pilih yg "MX". Pada kolom "Mail Domain" kosongi saja kolom tersebut. Pada kolom "Order" isikan data2 "Priority" diatas. Trus pada kolom "mail server" isikan dengan data "MX Server Address" diatas kemudian klik tombol "Update All". begitu terus sampai data diatas dimasukkan semua.
Bagi yang menggunakan DNS setting dari dodoldomain.com caranya : masuk ke menu "Domain-->LIst last 10", trus klik link "Managed DNS", kemudian klik tombol Manage DNS Record. Setelah itu klik tombol "MX Records" trus klik tombol "Add MX Record". Untuk kolom "Value" pilih yg bawah (yg "Type In A Fully Qualified Domain Name eg. abc.pqr.com.') . isikan data "MX Server address" di kolom tersebut. kemudian isikan data "Priority" dikolom "MX Priority". begitu terus sampai selesai semua data dimasukkan.
8. kalo sudah selesai klik tombol " I have completed these steps". Maka akan muncul page seperti ini lagi.
9. Sebenarnya sampai disini sudah bisa selesai, tp untuk membuka email km, km harus mengetikkan alamt URL seperti ini "http://mail.google.com/a/domainmu.com" . Nha klao misalnya km pingin menggantinya menjadi seperti : "http://mail.domainmu.com" maka ikuti lagi langkah berikut ini.
10. Klik link "Email" maka akan muncul halaman "Email setting"
11. Trus klik link "Change URL" , kemudian akan muncul halaman untuk "Change URL for email".
12. PIlih yg "custom" trus klik tombol "Continue".
13. Setelah itu km setting dulu DNS km, Tambahkan "CNAME Records" dan isikan "mail" di kolom "Hostname" dan isikan "ghs.google.com" dikolom http://naldoton.blogspot.com"Value"
14. Setelah itu klik tombol "I have complete these step"
Nha sekarang km sudah bisa memiliki email dengan nama doamin blogmu sendiri. Untuk setting2 lainnya pelajari sendiri ya. Udah capek nih.....

Domain gratis tanpa subdomain yang panjang
Jika kita membuat blog secara gratis, baik di blogger atau di wordpress kita akan memperoleh nama/domain blog kita seperti ini http://blabla.blogspot.com atau http://blabla.wordpress.com. Bagi yang punya banyak uang mungkin bisa langsung membayar dan bisa memiliki nama domain dot.com. Namun bagi kita yang miskin ini pasti malas jika harus merogoh uang jajan kita demi mendapatkan domain yang lebih simple yaitu http://blabla.com. Tapi jangan khawatir bos, saya punya tips menarik supaya nama web/blog kita menjadi lebih pendek, dan juga tidak perlu bayar. mau tahu caranya?
Ada beberapa layanan di internet yang yang bisa mempersingkat nama domain blog kita. Disini akan saya sebutkan tiga saja yang menjadi favorit saya, karena selain gratis, cara daftarnya juga gampang, dan tidak ada iklannya. Berikut ini adalah layanannya:
1. co.cc nama blog kita akan menjadi http://nama.co.cc
2. co.nr nama blog kita akan menjadi http://nama.co.nr
3. uni.cc nama blog kita akan menjadi http://nama.uni.cc
Nha jadi lumayan pendek kan? mau tahu caranya? gampang kok, tinggal kunjungi situs tersebut terus daftarkan web/blog kita.
Pengen dijelasin caranya? OK deh
kali ini saya akan menjelaskan satu aja yang menjadi paling favorit saya dari ketiga layanan tersebut yaitu co.cc
1. Buka website ini http://co.cc maka tampilannnya akan seperti ini
2. Isikan nama domain untuk blog/web kamu sesuai yang kamu inginkan di kotak yang disediakan, terus klik tombol cek
3. Jika domain yang kamu minta ternyata sudah dimiliki orang lain maka kamu akan diminta memasukkan kembali nama dimain yang lain, namun jika belum ada yang punya maka kamu bisa langsung mendaftarkannya dengan meng-klik tombol Continue to Registration lalu klik link Create Account
4. Setelah itu akan muncul form pendaftaran, isilah form tersebut trus klik tombol Submit
5. Jika berhasil maka akan muncul halaman baru lagi, lalu klik tombol Set up Domain, trus muncul lagi halaman baru dan klik pada tombol Please Set up
6. Kemudian isikan alamat blog kamu, misalnya http://trik-tips.blogspot.com pada kotak Target URL dan isikan title dari blog kamu pada kotak Title
7. Jika kamu pingin nama asli blog kamu tidak kelihatan di addressbar maka klik pada link URL Hiding
8. Jika sudah lalu klik tombol Setup Domain
9. Web/blog kamu akan diperiksa dulu oleh tim dari co.cc. masa tunggunya paling lama 24 jam, jika sudah di approve atau disetujui maka kamu akan langsu bisa memakai nama domain kamu yang baru. Oh ya, domain yang lama masih tetep bisa di akses.
Trus, catatan lagi nih, disini tidak menerima website yang mengandung unsur pornografi, spam, dan sesuatu yang ilegal.
